Friends of Novi Schools is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping create a happier and healthier school community by improving the lives of individuals and families affected by mental illness through support, education and advocacy. Our vision is simple - to make a difference. Better lives for a better community.
MISSION & HISTORY.
"Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make choices. Mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood." The Friends of Novi Schools is dedicated to helping create a happier and healthier school community by improving the lives of individuals and families affected by mental illness through support, education and advocacy. With a combined 26 years of service to the Novi Community School District, Tom and Jason Smith (no relation, but great friends who want to make a difference) started this non-profit just a few months ago. We believe mental health is just as important as physical health. Both of our families have children in Novi schools and seeing first-hand the pressure students are under and what a pandemic can do to our kids and staff, it was a no brainer to start Friends of Novi Schools.
